Nitrogen pollution plagues our waterways on Long Island. After years of study, Suffolk County has developed a meaningful, ambitious, comprehensive plan to address our nitrogen problem and achieve ecosystem recovery in our waters.
This critical plan includes replacing our outdated cesspools and septic systems with advanced on-site systems and, where appropriate, improving and expanding sewer systems. These actions will allow us to restore our waterways for future generations. Join us at a public hearing on this new plan and speak up in support of combating nitrogen pollution on Long Island.
